"Throughout life's ups and downs, photography has been the constant.
It's my excuse to be where I otherwise wouldn't be.
It's my creative space. It's where I can breathe."
-Sarah Gump

About
I am a Colorado native and grew up at the foot of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains in the San Luis Valley.
Today I live in the Durango area of southwest Colorado.
In photography I blend my love for the outdoors with creative artistic expression to produce landscapes that represent a universal appreciation for the majesty of nature.
I feel most alive when I am in nature. There is a certain wholeness that envelops me when I am present during the first snow, or witnessing a storm system move its way through a landscape.
I feel so privileged to bear witness to mother nature's beautiful artistry.
It is a privilege to share those moments with you.

Process
All images were taken with a Nikon D3300 or a Nikon D850. Lenses include Nikon 18-55mm,
Nikon 55-200mm, Tamron 18-400mm and Nikon 70-300.
All images were shot using complete manual settings in the Nikon Raw image format.
The first part of the post production process takes place in camera with the use of polarizing and neutral density filters. Each image is further developed using the Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop suites. Traditional darkroom techniques such as exposure adjustments, color correction, and dynamic range enhancement are used to complete the development process.
No image ever contains elements that were not present at the time of shutter release.
